Dental Bridges: An Overview
Our office offers several types of dental bridges for patients with missing teeth. A dental bridge is a dental prosthesis used to “bridge” the gap between teeth, which can be fixed or removable.
Types of Dental Bridges
- Removable Dental Bridge – The removable bridge or partial denture is removed at bedtime and reinserted in the morning.
- Fixed Dental Bridge – The bridge is not removable but cemented into place.
Dental Bridge vs. Dental Implant
If you are considering a dental bridge vs. dental implant, the best place to start is a consultation with one of our dentists. They will evaluate your condition and determine which treatments are right for you. Not everyone is a candidate for dental implants, based on the location of the missing tooth, bone health, and other factors. Our dentists will outline the various treatment options available to you, along with the treatment schedules and associated costs. Together, you will choose the right treatment for your needs, goals, and budget.
Dental Bridges: What to Expect
The way in which you experience the dental bridge process will depend on whether your dental bridge is fixed or removable. The process will begin with a consultation with one of our dentist. Digital images and impressions are taken to help plan for a successful and effective treatment.
While your final bridge is fabricated, we will place a temporary dental bridge for comfort and aesthetic reasons. Once your final bridge is finished, we will secure it to your adjacent teeth or dental implants.
Your satisfaction, patient experience, and comfort are important to our dental care team. We work with you to ensure your dental needs and goals are met. If you would like to explore your tooth replacement options, we encourage you to visit our Severna Park dentist office.
